Hot Wheels Athens London hosting Maxwell Graham
On the occasion of Condo London 2024
Text
Hot Wheels Athens London and Maxwell Graham Gallery, New York are pleased to present a collaborative exhibition of works by Cora Pongracz (b. 1943-2003) and Maria Toumazou (b. 1989, Nicosia) on the occasion of Condo London, 2024.
The two-person exhibition presents historical photographs by Pongracz alongside new sculptures and works on paper by Toumazou, each distinct in their approach towards radical portraiture informed by site and subject. One’s dedication to process-oriented repetition is met with the poetic seriality of the other’s images. Together, they articulate embedded languages of subversion, femininity, tenderness, and a shared commitment to leaving ends untied.
